Kootenai County Farmers’ Markets’ Harvest Fest

The Kootenai County Farmers Market wraps up its 2024 season with the annual Harvest Fest on Saturday, October 26, from 10am to 3pm on Main Street in Coeur d’Alene’s Riverstone. This festive event offers trick-or-treating for kids, fall produce shopping, and delicious food for all! Expect an abundance of seasonal favorites, including pumpkins, squashes, corn, onions, potatoes, greens, tomatoes, garlic, apples, and more. Specialty items like mushrooms, microgreens, honey, and jams made from summer fruits will also be available. To top off the festivities, there will be live music by Daniel Hall. Negative Split’s Santa Run 2024

Negative Split’s Santa Run 2024 invites runners of all ages to get into the holiday spirit at their final race of the year, happening December 7 beginning at 9am! Held next to The Coeur d’Alene Resort, participants can choose between a chip-timed 10k or 5k run along the scenic Lake Coeur d’Alene. Every runner will receive a finisher medal, Santa hat and festive treats, with hot chocolate available inside the Coeur d’Alene Resort Plaza Shops to warm up after the race. Halloween Hustle Half Marathon, 10k, 5k & Goblin Shuffle 2024

On October 27, Negative Split presents the annual Halloween Hustle, offering runners a “spook-tacular” experience with four thrilling course distances: the Haunted Half Marathon, Terrifying 10k, Freaky 5k, and the 1/2-mile Goblin Shuffle Kids Run. These out-and-back courses double the Halloween fun, and participants are encouraged to dress up for a chance to win great prizes! Race swag includes themed shirts, medals and treats. Start times are 8am for the Half Marathon, 8:05am for the Kids Run, 8:30am for the 10k and 8:45am for the 5k. Don’t miss this festive, family friendly event! It’s hunting season, and Chef Troy is ready for it! To start, he’ll create a spicy Arugula Salad with cherry tomatoes, shaved manchego cheese, roasted pine nuts and a citrus vinaigrette. Chef Troy will demonstrate how to work with cuts of wild game, creating pan-seared Venison Medallions with a merlot demi-glace paired with a Scalloped Potato Galette, Caramelized Forest Mushroom and Onion Sauté. It’s time to bring the kiddos to The Culinary Stone for a fun Saturday afternoon baking Halloween treats from 2 to 4pm on October 19! Chef K will teach your young ghosts and goblins how to make Frankenstein Cupcakes and Tombstone Brownies. They’ll also learn scary good recipes for Rice Crispy Treats and Dirt Cake. Junk 2 Funk Fashion Show 2024

The highly anticipated Junk 2 Funk Fashion Show is back, presented by the Kootenai Environmental Alliance! This creative “trashion” event highlights sustainability through fashion, showcasing incredible outfits made from upcycled and repurposed materials. The event will take place on Saturday, October 12, at the Eagles on Sherman Avenue in downtown Coeur d’Alene. Doors open at 5pm, with the show beginning at 6pm. It’s a night where art meets activism, bringing together the community for an evening of eco-conscious fun and style.
