Supporting Our First Responders

February 8, 2025, marks the inaugural 007 Casino Royale Charity Gala to benefit the Red & Blue Foundation.

Founded in 2005 after a critical incident involving a local first responder, Mike Kralicek, the Red & Blue Foundation aims to assist with needs both big and small for area first responders and their immediate family. As the largest first responder support nonprofit in Kootenai County, the foundation is equipped to assist the needs of first responders in a variety of ways.

Benefiting Hospice of North Idaho (HONI), get your tickets today for the 40th annual Hospice Wine Taste and Auction, “Life in Full Bloom.” Held at the Coeur d’Alene Resort on Saturday, February 1, come out and celebrate an evening filled with lavish décor, gourmet appetizers, fine wine, games and prizes, and live and silent auctions, with proceeds going to benefit HONI’s charitable mission and care for patients in Kootenai, Shoshone, Benewah and South Bonner counties. 2025 Mac & Cheese Festival

Downtown Coeur d’Alene is ready to host the 2025 Mac & Cheese Festival, a celebration of comfort food, culinary creativity and community! This year’s event promises to be bigger and cheesier than ever, featuring more than 20 mouthwatering variations of everyone’s favorite comfort dish crafted by local chefs.

Ticketholders can choose from two tasting sessions: lunch from 11am to 1pm or dinner from 2 to 4pm. Check-in begins at the Plaza Shops (210 East Sherman Avenue), where attendees will receive tasting passports, tickets, and optional glassware for beer pairings.

Adding to the excitement, chefs will compete for the prestigious Golden Noodle Award, judged by an esteemed panel of experts. This year’s judges include Aaron Fish, executive head chef of the Eat Good Group and former Chopped participant; Keith Boe, founder of North Idaho Cuisine and North Idaho Life, chef and restaurateur; Kris Kilduff, professional food writer and critic, and contributor of Eater.com; Larry Phelps, former two-time Mac & Cheese Festival People’s Choice Trophy recipient and touring chef for Pink, Tyler Childers, Korn, and Pearl Jam; Ryan ‘Mac,’ two-time Golden Noodle Award recipient and current restaurant consultant for Sysco Foods; and Mark Robitaille, executive director of the Coeur d’Alene Convention & Visitors Bureau and vital advocate for North Idaho’s culinary culture.

Whether you’re a mac and cheese connoisseur or simply looking for a fun, flavorful day out, this festival offers something special. Don’t miss your chance to experience Coeur d’Alene’s finest comfort food and witness the crowning of this year’s mac and cheese champion!

13th Annual North Idaho Turkey Trot

Kick off your Thanksgiving with the 13th Annual North Idaho Turkey Trot at Riverstone Park on Thursday, November 28! This fun and festive community event offers 1-mile, 5k, and 10k distances, making it perfect for runners and walkers of all ages. There’s no timing or awards — just a healthy way to start the day with family and friends. After crossing the finish line, enjoy delicious hot cider and cookies! Shirts are available for participants. To register, head over to RunSignUp.com and make this trot a Thanksgiving tradition! Proceeds from Turkey Trot 2024 will be donated to Kootenai Environmental Alliance (KEAlliance.org.)

Nourishing Hope

The CdA Backpack Program, part of the national Feeding America initiative, launched in November 2010 to address child hunger in Coeur d’Alene. Starting with just 16 students at Lakes Middle School, it now provides food kits to more than 550 students across 15 schools within the Coeur d’Alene School District each week — a number that continues to grow as community needs increase.
